Generally speaking, when we make export packaging boxes for precision electronic equipment, porcelain, cultural relics, and fragile goods, we must make these packaging wooden boxes shock resistant and vibration resistant, mainly to prevent vibration damage during transportation or when goods fall.
Because the above-mentioned products are sensitive to vibration, they require proper protection against impact and vibration. The cushioning and energy absorbing materials provided by shock and vibration resistance can reduce the impact and vibration on the products, and play a role in supporting, separating, and fixing the products. Every form of transportation will encounter vibrations of various frequencies during the transportation process. In order to protect products that are sensitive to vibration, it is necessary to confirm the natural frequency of the vulnerable components and compare them with the vibration characteristics of the materials in the packaging design. The risk of product damage during transportation is most likely to occur when the vibration frequency is consistent with the natural frequency of the product (or key core components in the product), resulting in resonance spectrum induced excitation.
The shockproof packaging of goods can be divided into two categories:
1、 Shock absorption treatment for the outer box of the packaging box:
1. Add a shock-absorbing layer at the bottom of the box to reduce vibration; 2. Add and subtract shock-absorbing balls at the bottom of the box for shock absorption; 3. Add airbag shock absorber at the bottom of the box;
2、 Soft packaging shock absorber inside the packaging box:
1. Foam packaging shock absorption; 2. EPE model shock absorption; 3. Air bag filling for shock absorption;
How to determine appropriate vibration protection? For most vibration sensitive products, confirming that the packaging design does not amplify (increase) the natural frequency of the product can effectively prevent vibration damage during transportation. For products that are severely vibration sensitive, packaging design must focus on effectively reducing the frequency spectrum.
